What to look forward to

A panel will examine AI’s impact and the challenge of keeping human flourishing at the center of technological change.

Inside the event

Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping every aspect of society, from education and the creative arts to security, public policy, and even human relationships.

Royal Holloway’s Age of AI series of events bring together leading researchers in a range of disciplines across the University to discuss and explore the opportunities, risks and challenges created by AI.

Each event will focus on a different theme – AI and the future of humans, AI and the needs of education, and what is next in the field of AI.

Through these events, our researchers will be reflecting on where we are now, where we are going, and how we can keep human and societal benefit at the centre of our response to such rapid technological change.

AI and the future of humans

AI is here, and changing how we understand and engage with one another – as individuals, communities, and society as a whole.

Drawing on their expertise in media, computing and the law, our panel will explore the impact of AI across multiple aspects of our lives – from creative expression to professional practice, legislation and our fundamental human rights – and set down the challenge to keep humans flourishing at the heart of this technological change.

This event's panel includes:
