This workshop will examine how AI is reshaping and challenging social science research, spanning both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Attendees will explore the implications for research practice across these approaches.
Inside the event
As AI has become embedded in economic, social and political practices, scholars have called for a closer relationship between social science and AI. This entails not only advancing a social science of AI by developing approaches and methods to analyse technological assumptions, imaginaries and impact on society, but also investigating AI for social science research or social science with AI. This workshop explores existing disciplinary and interdisciplinary responses that have taken up the challenge of developing social science with AI – working reflexively with AI methods on social science questions as well as bringing social science methods to AI.
