What to look forward to
Participants will work in four-person pods with technical mentor support to build and demo a working AI-assisted prototype by the end of the event, no pitch required.
Inside the event
Founders’ Build Night: **Ship One AI Prototype** - Seattle
**“No pitch. Just build - and demo something real before you leave.”**
Founders’ Build Night is a three-hour working session for founders, product people, and builders who would rather make something than talk about making something.
- No pitch deck.
- No investor panel.
- No startup competition.
- No long AI lecture.
Twenty participants are organized into five small build pods.
Each pod has approximately four builders and one technical mentor.
Choose one small idea.
Reduce the scope until it can be tested.
Build.
Break it.
Fix the most important part.
Then show the room what actually works.
**WHAT COUNTS AS A BUILD?**
Your project should be small enough to demonstrate one useful flow before the evening ends.
Examples may include
**CHATBOT / GUIDED ASSISTANT**
- FAQ prototype
- Guided intake flow
- Internal information assistant
- Structured question-and-response tool
**WORKFLOW AUTOMATION**
- Form → classification → draft response
- Structured input → summary
- Recurring update workflow
- Simple task-routing prototype
**LANDING PAGE / MICRO-TOOL**
- Landing-page prototype
- Structured intake page
- Small calculator-like experience
- Simple AI-assisted interface
- Proof-of-concept product flow
You do not need to arrive with a fully designed product.
**THE SCOPE RULE**
Before building, complete this sentence
“By 7:35 PM, a user should be able to ______.”
That is the scope.
If the project cannot fit into that sentence clearly, your mentor may recommend reducing it.
Founders’ Build Night rewards clarity, not feature count.
**A WORKING PROTOTYPE - NOT A PRODUCTION PROMISE**
The goal is one working demonstration flow.
Some participants may create something they can continue using after the event.
Others may leave with a functioning prototype that still needs additional technical, security, product, or operational work.
Signal Loop Labs does not guarantee that every project will be
- Production-ready
- Customer-ready
- Fully deployed
- Securely integrated
- Scalable
- Commercially viable
- Error-free
The night is designed to help you make meaningful progress on a deliberately small build.
**BUILD PODS**
The event is designed around
5 build pods
with approximately
4 participants + 1 technical mentor per pod
Build routing is informed by the project descriptions submitted during registration.
Final mentor and pod placement depends on the actual attendee mix.
**BUILD SPRINT 1 - GET THE CORE FLOW WORKING**
Start with the smallest version of the idea.
Ask
What input starts the flow?
What should happen next?
What output proves that the idea works at all?
Ignore unnecessary features.
Get from input to output.
**MENTOR CHECKPOINT**
Each pod pauses for a structured technical review.
The mentor helps identify
- Scope that is still too large
- Broken handoffs
- Missing assumptions
- Unnecessary complexity
- Data or security concerns
- The next smallest useful step
Mentors support the build process.
They are not building the entire project on behalf of participants.
**BUILD SPRINT 2 - CONNECT, TEST, SIMPLIFY**
Run the flow.
Find what breaks.
Remove unnecessary steps.
Use test inputs.
Check whether another person can understand what the tool is supposed to do.
**BUILD SPRINT 3 - DEMO-READY PASS**
Prepare one reliable demonstration path.
The objective is not to hide every unfinished part.
The objective is to show clearly
What problem did you choose?
What did you build?
What works now?
What still needs work?
**THE TWO-MINUTE DEMO**
Each pod receives approximately two minutes.
Show the working flow.
Do not give a five-minute company pitch.
Suggested structure
20 seconds - The problem
What were you trying to make easier?
70 seconds - The demo
Show the working prototype.
20 seconds - What broke or changed
What did your team learn while building?
10 seconds - Next iteration
What would you work on next?
**NO WINNER**
There is
- No judging panel
- No first place
- No prize
- No ranking
- No “best startup”
The demo exists to create a deadline and receive practical feedback.
**DEMO FEEDBACK**
Feedback centers on three questions
What worked?
Where did the flow break or become confusing?
What is the smallest useful next iteration?
