The gathering

What to look forward to

Students, community members, and allies will hear about advanced AI risks, listen to speeches and testimonials, and write postcards urging Congress to pause AI development. The call for action reflects polling showing broad bipartisan support for congressional oversight and AI researchers’ serious concerns about catastrophic risks.

Inside the event

Over 80% of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents say Congress should address the risk of losing control of AI. The majority of AI researchers believe there is at least a 10% chance of human extinction or something similarly terrible. Congress must act to address this threat. Join us as we gather with fellow students, community members, and allies to make our voices heard. We will learn about the threats posed by advanced AI, hear speeches and testimonials, and write postcards to our representatives demanding action. We are calling for an immediate freeze on AI development now, because we the people deserve a say, a stake, and basic safety. We need to determine the future of this powerful, dangerous technology. Bring your friends and help us save the world from uncontrolled AI!
