What to look forward to
INFORMAL PROOFS will bring artists, engineers, and researchers together for a discussion on image-making and perception: David Moy will examine how the tools shaping images also shape desire and reality, while MIT-trained artist-engineer Karyn Nakamura will share experiments in sensing, computer vision, optics, and spatial calibration. Moy’s work has appeared in exhibitions in New York, Belgium, and France; Nakamura’s internationally presented practice draws on research in AI, computer vision, and visual forensics.
Inside the event
INFORMAL PROOFS isa salon and discussion group for artists, engineers, and researchers working at the frontier. Meets in person, in New York, on a monthly schedule.

David Moy will be discussing their image making practice. David’s images are born from the same tools that built the system. He uses them not just to negate adverts that pervade our minds and hold control over our wants and needs, but to implicate the very same tools that are constructing our reality.
Karyn Nakamura will present various fun experiments in sensing, computer vision, optics, imaging, spatial calibration.

DAVID MOY studied at Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia, PA and Hunter College, New York, NY. Moy has had recent Exhibitions in New York, Belgium and France
