Builders from London's cutting-edge AI labs will swap war stories and technical lessons from training foundation models in biology, climate, and deep-tech—no fluff, just real insights from teams working with actual biological systems. Expect pizza, talks from practitioners at the frontier, and plenty of time to connect with fellow researchers and engineers doing hands-on model work.
Inside the event
Models That Matter is an event for people building AI in biology, deep-tech, climate, or other sectors that drive direct social benefit to learn from and connect with one another. The session brings together builders from leading London-based AI labs and companies working at the frontier to share how they design, train, and use foundation models to advance science, and why the UK is the ideal place to do it. We’ll start with informal pizza, drinks, and networking, followed by short technical talks from builders deep in the work. What they built, why they made the choices they did, and what broke along the way. No panels, no pitches. Just concrete lessons from teams building AI in real biological systems. Confirmed speakers include builders from: To be announced The evening wraps up with more time to connect, compare notes, and continue the conversation.
