Inside the event
Thinking about moving into AI safety but not sure where to start? Or do you just need some support along the way? Come plan your next steps with people making the same move. π©π»π» This is part of the AI Safety Berlin co-working event. You are welcome to register for both and get some co-working in beforehand. The session ends right when the AI Safety lunch begins, so we can head there together. Schedule π For newcomers: 11:15-11:30 Intro & resources for where to start Main Session: 11:30 Check-ins 11:50 Workshop 12:50 Commitments 13:00 End (and start AI Safety Coworking lunch) About this session's workshop "I want to get into AI safety." It's where almost everyone starts, which is exactly why nobody remembers it. In this hands-on 60-minute session, you'll get clear on what you bring, where you might fit in AI safety, and what you need from others. Then you'll turn it into two short intros: one to say out loud when you meet people, and one to use online, on LinkedIn or event apps like Swapcard. You'll also learn how to follow up so new connections actually stick. You'll practice in small groups and leave with an intro you've already said three times. Great if you're new to the field, still exploring, or heading to EAGxBerlin the next day. No preparation needed. Bonus (optional): jot down quick answers before you come. What are 2 or 3 things I'm genuinely good at? Where might I fit in AI safety? What do I need from other people right now? Hosted by Aaron Pinto, who is making the move into AI safety himself, after years running large healthcare IT programs in Canada and co-founding an AI startup in Berlin. He coaches international speakers and built his own intro the same way you will in this session.
