Cursor is now part of The X Subscription, bringing its AI tools into paid plans that share usage with Grok products. Existing Cursor subscribers can keep their current plans or switch. The choice comes with an important billing distinction: the subscription covers included Grok usage, while third-party models in Cursor cost extra.
Cursor’s October 12 announcement introduces a bundle whose individual paid tiers run from $8 to $200 a month. Alongside Cursor and Grok, the plans include X features such as a premium checkmark and creator tools. Higher tiers add both larger AI allowances and additional product features.
Existing subscribers have a choice
The announcement gives current Cursor subscribers two paths: retain their existing subscription or move to The X Subscription. It does not require them to switch. For those choosing the bundle, Cursor and Grok draw from the same AI allowance rather than receiving separate included pools for each product.
The model choice also depends on the tier. Plus, the introductory paid plan, offers only Grok models. Premium and above allow third-party models in Cursor, but those plans do not provide an included allowance for them. Access to a model and payment for its use are separate parts of the offer.
One allowance, refreshed each week
The shared pool spans Cursor and Grok products, including Grok Build. Within Grok, the pricing page says it covers Chat, Imagine, Voice, Bot and API access. Usage costs vary by product, so the allowance is not a uniform count of actions across all those services.
Allowances refresh weekly, even though the listed subscription prices are monthly. Subscribers who exhaust their included usage can buy top-offs or wait for the next refresh. Remaining usage appears in settings. That weekly schedule determines when included capacity returns; the monthly price alone does not describe how usage is distributed over time.
What the four paid tiers buy
Cursor’s pricing page lists four individual paid plans, using Plus as the baseline for the larger tiers’ included usage:
- Plus costs $8 a month and supplies the baseline shared AI allowance, with Grok models only.
- Premium costs $30 a month and includes four times Plus’s usage, cloud agents and automations, code hosting and AI code reviews.
- Super costs $100 a month and includes 15 times Plus’s usage, plus priority model access at peak times.
- Ultra costs $200 a month and includes 50 times Plus’s usage, plus earliest access to all products and models.
Organizations have separate options. Teams starts at $30 per user per month, while Enterprise has custom pricing and pooled usage. Teams includes centralized billing, usage analytics, team-wide privacy settings and the ability to mix seat types. Enterprise adds granular spending controls, group-level limits, and repository, model and access controls.
The listed prices exclude applicable taxes and fees. Cancellation must happen at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid another charge. For current Cursor customers, the next step remains optional: stay on their plan, or choose a bundle whose included usage crosses products but whose third-party model charges remain separate.
