Today, Meta announced CM3Leon (“chameleon” in clumsy leetspeak), an AI model that the company claims achieves state-of-the-art performance for text-to-image generation. CM3Leon is also distinguished by being one of the first image generators capable of generating captions for images, laying the groundwork for more capable image-understanding models going forward, Meta says.

I can’t claim that this is going to be a complete user guide, but it will serve as a bit of orientation to the current state of AI. I have been putting together a Getting Started Guide to AI for my students (and interested readers) every few months, and each time, it requires major modifications. The last couple of months have been particularly insane.

CoTracker: It is Better to Track Together [Project][Code]
In this paper, we propose CoTracker, an architecture that jointly tracks multiple points throughout an entire video. This architecture is based on several ideas from the optical flow and tracking literature, and combines them in a new, flexible and powerful design. It is based on a transformer network that models the correlation of different points in time via specialised attention layers.
