Shared links in ChatGPT allow users to generate unique URLs for conversations, providing a convenient way to share conversations without the need for screenshots.
These shared links are available on the chat.openai.com website and will soon be available on the iOS app.
Users can create shared links by hovering over a chat and clicking on the share link option, choosing to share with or without their name.
Shared links are public, allowing anyone with the link to view and continue the conversation.
They serve various use cases such as sharing specific conversations or messages, collaborating with external parties, and creating reference points for future discussions.
Shared links capture a snapshot of the conversation at the time of link generation and do not include future messages.
Deleting the original conversation or the user's account will also delete the shared links associated with it.
There is currently no way to prevent other users from continuing the conversation from a shared link.
Shared links are not indexed by search engines and are not included in data exports.
Users can manage their shared links, including deleting individual links or all shared links, through the settings area of the ChatGPT website.
