Allplan Max 2027 brings AI capabilities across Nemetschek’s Allplan, SCIA, FRILO and SDS2 engineering products, pairing firm-built automation with task-specific assistance for analysis, BIM queries and drawing annotation. Launched on October 28, 2026, it extends AI from in-product help to Python-backed customization and MCP-connected workflows, while engineers retain responsibility for review and approval. Nemetschek reports customers completed selected tasks up to 36% faster, but that figure is self-reported, not independently benchmarked; availability varies by product, package and region.
Feature Builder uses natural-language descriptions and Python code to create custom functionality inside Allplan.
Workflow Builder uses an MCP server to connect Allplan with language models, AI-agent platforms and other systems.
SCIA and FRILO’s AI Structural Analyst interprets internal forces, reactions and deformations from structural analysis.
Engineers using Allplan’s software are getting AI tools to build custom workflows, interpret structural results and prepare drawings—not a handoff of design authority. Nemetschek Group and Allplan launched Allplan Max 2027 on October 28, 2026, introducing capabilities across their engineering portfolio while leaving engineers responsible for review, approval and final outcomes.
Allplan Max is a collection of capabilities inside engineering products, rather than a single assistant confined to one application. Nemetschek describes it as a common intelligence layer across Allplan, SCIA, FRILO and SDS2, covering work from modeling and analysis through detailing and fabrication.
One part of that collection lets firms customize how their software works. Feature Builder uses natural-language descriptions and Python code to create custom functionality inside Allplan. That puts software customization alongside more narrowly defined tasks, such as writing formulas, querying model information and preparing drawings.
Workflow Builder handles connections beyond the application. AEC Magazine describes an MCP server—a connection through which Allplan can work with language models and AI-agent platforms. The intended uses include retrieving project information, connecting Allplan with other systems and creating automations through plain-language instructions.
The selected-task estimate does not establish whole-project or portfolio-wide gains. It describes customer-reported experience, not an independently verified benchmark.
Allplan also draws a boundary around what assistance means. Its stated principle is that AI supports engineering judgment rather than replacing it. Engineers retain responsibility for design intent as well as review, approval and final outcomes.
The release accompanies Allplan 2027, which adds reinforcement-detailing improvements, building information modeling workflows and AI-powered customization. Launch timing does not mean identical access across the portfolio: Nemetschek says availability may vary by product, package and region.
