The update makes Apple Creator Studio more than a bundle of creative apps: external agents will be able to read, edit and automate work inside Keynote, Pages and Numbers through MCP, with Keynote also gaining an open JSON interchange format. Built-in assistants for those apps and Logic Pro arrive in beta in November 2026, alongside new editing tools. Apple has not given a specific release date, and the agent integrations’ practical scope will depend on how external tools use the new access.
Keynote, Pages and Numbers assistants use Apple models and OpenAI; tasks include drafting, slide design and spreadsheet analysis.
Logic Pro’s assistant can help start songs and set up vocal tracks; its audio browser analyzes sounds on-device, and Stem Splitter can rebalance drums.
Final Cut Pro adds MotionVFX content and a direct Pixelmator Pro editing loop, plus 23 transcription languages.
Apple is putting AI assistants inside the apps where subscribers write, build presentations and produce music. Its October 27 announcement of Apple Creator Studio updates pairs those assistants with access for external AI agents and new image-editing tools. The updates are scheduled for November 2026, free for existing subscribers, with the assistants arriving in beta.
Keynote, Pages and Numbers will gain assistants built on Apple models and OpenAI. Apple says they understand the document being worked on, allowing users to ask for help without leaving it. The proposed tasks differ by app: slide design, writing and spreadsheet work rather than a single general-purpose chat window.
Apple is also adding a route for tools outside those apps. Model Context Protocol, or MCP, supplies the connection for external AI agents. Separately, Keynote will support Keynote Interchange Format, an open, JSON-based bundle format designed to be readable by external tools, developer workflows and AI agents.
Logic Pro’s new assistant is coming to the Mac, also powered by Apple-built models and OpenAI. Apple says it can help start a song, set up a vocal track from one prompt or refine an active project. It is intended to help users navigate production workflows, not just answer questions about the software.
A redesigned Mac Browser will bring loops, instruments and effect patches together. Its music-understanding feature analyzes audio on the device, classifying and tagging added sounds for searches. Users can also drag in a loop to find matching audio. An enhanced Stem Splitter will isolate, replace or rebalance drum parts without requiring the original multitrack recordings.
Pixelmator Pro’s Generate Fill takes a more targeted approach to image generation: select an area and describe the change. Apple says the result matches the surrounding lighting, perspective and texture. Generated content can be merged into existing layers or added as new layers with masking, leaving room for further manual refinement.
The same coordinated update adds built-in MotionVFX content to Final Cut Pro for Mac. That includes thousands of elements such as titles, transitions and templates, plus tools for tracking, rotoscoping—isolating subjects in footage—and color grading. Final Cut Pro also gains access to Apple’s Content Hub of stock video, photos and backgrounds.
Editors will be able to open an image from a Final Cut Pro timeline in Pixelmator Pro and save changes back automatically, without reimporting it. Other editing changes include finer animation controls, the ability to disconnect clips from the primary storyline and 23 additional transcription languages for captioning and searching footage.
Apple’s next step is delivery through the App Store in November; it has not named a specific day. Its pricing and availability details put new U.S. subscriptions at $12.99 per month or $129 per year. Free versions of Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Freeform will remain available, alongside the subscriber features described in this update.
