Apple adds five languages to Siri AI, with EU mobile access still blocked
The assistant remains in beta and requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled device. Four more languages are planned by year-end, while some server-backed features carry daily limits.
Siri AI’s personal-context, onscreen, app-action and web-answer capabilities are now available in five additional languages, but language support alone does not guarantee access. The beta requires a compatible Apple Intelligence device configured in a supported language, and excludes users under 13. Apple’s EU split remains: iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch users there cannot use Siri AI, while Mac and Vision Pro access was already allowed. Four more languages are planned by year-end; server-backed features have variable daily limits, with expanded access set to become a paid option.

Apple says daily limits on server-backed features can vary with request complexity, system demand and other factors.
Apple’s Siri AI can now work in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, extending its personal-context and onscreen tools beyond English. The October 26, 2026, release arrives through Apple’s 27.2 software updates. But the assistant remains a beta, and the added languages do not remove its EU restrictions on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
The update delivers the October language expansion Apple outlined when Siri AI began rolling out in English on September 14. That earlier release introduced the assistant across Apple’s platforms; today’s announcement brings the same named service to another group of supported languages.
Personal information becomes part of the request
Siri AI is built on Apple Intelligence. Apple says its personal-context understanding helps users find information across messages, emails, photos and other content.
A second source of context is whatever is on the screen. Apple says Siri AI can answer questions or take actions related to that content. Its systemwide app actions also cover tasks such as drafting an email from scratch, or editing and sharing a set of photos.
The assistant is not limited to personal material. Apple also describes access to broad world knowledge and up-to-date information. Its September announcement explained that Siri could go out to the web to generate an answer, alongside its ability to work with information already on the device.
A supported language is only the first requirement
Siri AI is available in beta in iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, macOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2. Installing an update alone is not enough: Apple requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled device set to a supported language. The service is unavailable to users under 13.
Apple says it is working with the EU to find a path forward for Siri AI access.
Four more languages are planned, with usage limits attached
Apple plans to add traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese by the end of 2026. Those are planned additions, not languages included in today’s Siri AI rollout. Apple Intelligence already lists a broader range of supported languages than the assistant itself, so support for the wider suite should not be read as confirmation of Siri AI access.
Access also comes with a usage boundary. Apple says certain Apple Intelligence features that rely on server-side models, including Siri AI, are subject to daily limits. Those limits can vary with the feature, request complexity, system demand, system policies and other factors. Apple says expanded access to such features will be available for a fee in the future.
