Apple Opens Siri Settlement Claims for Eligible U.S. iPhone Buyers

Apple has opened the claims process for its $250 million U.S. settlement over delayed personalized Siri features, giving eligible iPhone buyers a route to seek an estimated $25 per device. The live portal changes the immediate question from whether customers can apply to whether their claim qualifies—and when money may actually arrive.

Claims are open from September 21 through December 21. The eventual payment is not fixed: the settlement terms estimate $25 for each eligible device, but say the amount could rise as high as $95 depending on the number of valid claims and other factors. A final approval hearing is scheduled for February 24, 2027, so payments are not expected to begin before then.

Who can use the portal

The class is limited to U.S. residents who bought one of the listed phones in the United States for purposes other than resale between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025. Customers are expected to receive an email with a claim ID and PIN, but the settlement website also provides a way to submit without them; it asks for the phone’s serial number or, if that is unavailable, an Apple Account email address and the phone number.

• iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max buyers can qualify if their purchase falls inside the stated window.
• The eligible iPhone 16 lineup includes the iPhone 16, 16e, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max.
• Buying an eligible model alone is not enough; the residence, purchase location, date, and non-resale conditions also apply.

A settlement is not an admission

The claim form is a practical route to compensation, not a ruling that Apple misled customers. The lawsuit followed Apple’s March 2025 delay of features it had previewed the previous June. Apple denies the allegations and agreed to settle to avoid the costs and risks of a trial.

That distinction shapes the limits of the payout. Claimants may receive a per-device award, but the ultimate amount depends on the claims pool, and no payment is expected until after final approval. The settlement resolves the litigation risk for Apple without requiring a court finding on the false-advertising allegations.

The product arrived after the dispute began

Apple later announced Siri AI at WWDC 2026. It is available on iPhone 15 Pro models and newer phones running iOS 27, though Apple still labels it a beta feature. That release does not alter the settlement’s eligibility dates, which focus on purchases made during the earlier period when the now-delayed capabilities were promoted.

For eligible buyers, the next deadline is December 21. For everyone who files, the larger uncertainty is administrative rather than technical: the court must approve the settlement, valid claims must be counted, and the final per-device payment must be calculated.
