Corologic Raises Seed Funding to Validate AI That Restores Angiography Video

Corologic has raised undisclosed seed funding from Kakao Ventures for AngioFilm, an AI system meant to reconstruct a more continuous view from lower-frame-rate coronary angiography video. The financing shifts the young company’s task from a technical demonstration toward multicenter clinical validation and regulatory work for a tool designed to reduce X-ray exposure during cardiovascular procedures.

Coronary angiography and related cardiovascular interventions use X-ray fluoroscopy so clinicians can follow blood vessels and medical devices during a procedure. Taking fewer images can lower radiation exposure, but it also lowers the frame rate and can leave staff with less visual information to work from.

AngioFilm uses video frame interpolation: it analyzes the frames immediately before and after a missing moment, tracks changes in vessel and device position, then estimates and generates an intermediate image. Corologic’s aim is to turn low-frame-rate footage into what appears to be higher-frame-rate video in real time, allowing clinicians to follow movement more continuously while fewer X-ray images are captured.

The startup is not proposing that hospitals replace angiography machines. It says AngioFilm can be added to an existing procedure environment, integrated with hospital imaging systems and processed at the edge, meaning image processing happens in the hospital rather than being sent elsewhere for real-time handling.

What the seed money is intended to support

• Multicenter clinical validation of AngioFilm.
• Further regulatory work with South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
• A planned U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance effort and ISO 13485 quality certification.

Corologic completed a medical-device filing or notification with South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in August, according to the two reports. That step is distinct from the broader validation and approval work it now plans to pursue; the company has not yet established in the supplied reporting that AngioFilm has completed multicenter clinical validation or received U.S. FDA clearance.

Corologic was founded in May 2026 by a team led by Sihyuk Kang of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital’s cardiology division. It demonstrated AngioFilm and presented related research at EuroPCR in May. The company now has capital to test whether its reconstructed frames can support real clinical workflows across sites, while its equipment-independent installation model is meant to reduce the practical friction of adoption.

Both accounts identify Kakao Ventures as an investor and say the amount was not disclosed. They differ on the other participant: Seoul Economic Daily names SNU Holdings, while WOWTALE names Seoul Techno Holdings. Corologic’s announced financing is the central fact; the co-investor identity is not consistent across the supplied coverage.
