The deal covers substantially all Wavicle assets; financial terms and acquired headcount were not disclosed.
Deloitte has acquired substantially all of Wavicle Data Solutions’ assets, bringing a data and AI engineering organization with Databricks expertise into its AI and Data practice. The deal is aimed at a practical enterprise bottleneck: building the data foundations and custom engineering needed to put AI systems to work at scale.
An asset deal built around engineering delivery
The purchase covers substantially all of Wavicle’s assets, Deloitte said on August 31. Wavicle specializes in data and AI engineering and has experience managing Databricks across major hyperscale cloud platforms. Its work spans consumer goods, manufacturing, financial services, life sciences and healthcare.
That combination explains the logic of the deal. Databricks is the platform around which Deloitte plans to organize the added capability, while Wavicle contributes engineers who can build custom solutions for specific industries. Deloitte says those engineers will work within a Databricks-centric, multi-alliance portfolio rather than a standalone new offering.
Why the Databricks connection is central
An AI-ready data foundation is the stated target: the data systems and engineering work that Deloitte says clients need before they can deploy enterprise AI at scale. Wavicle’s cross-cloud Databricks experience gives Deloitte a more specialized implementation layer for that task, especially where industry knowledge is part of the work.
The acquisition also extends an established Deloitte-Databricks relationship. Deloitte said it received three 2026 Databricks Partner Awards at the Data + AI Summit: North America Partner of the Year for consulting and system integrators, Banking Partner of the Year, and Public Sector SLED Partner of the Year. The Wavicle purchase adds people and delivery skills to that existing relationship.
From a consulting capability to client systems
Deloitte plans to integrate Wavicle’s technical talent with its broader consulting organization. The proposed delivery model puts forward-deployed engineers on custom, industry-specific work, pairing data engineering with Deloitte’s consulting reach and Databricks offering.
The completed transaction changes Deloitte’s available expertise now. The promised business outcome—faster delivery of AI that produces lasting value for clients—depends on how successfully Deloitte integrates the engineering group and delivers those planned customer projects.
