Emulate, a stealth UK startup founded by former Google DeepMind researchers, is reportedly negotiating up to $700 million in seed financing. The proposed deal would value the company at roughly $3 billion pre-money, or about $3.7 billion post-money, though neither the terms nor closing are settled. Index Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners are reportedly leading talks.
The proposed financing would be unusually large for a seed round if it closes on reported terms.
The $3 billion figure is pre-money; adding $700 million produces an implied post-money value near $3.7 billion.
Emulate was incorporated in August and remains in stealth, so its product and commercial traction are not publicly detailed.
Emulate, a UK AI startup founded by former Google DeepMind researchers, is reportedly in advanced discussions to raise up to $700 million in seed funding at an approximately $3 billion pre-money valuation. The financing is still under negotiation, and its final terms could change.
If the round closes on the reported terms, it would imply a post-money valuation of about $3.7 billion. Index Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners are reportedly leading the discussions, according to Crypto Briefing.
Emulate was incorporated in August and founded by Jack Parker-Holder, Matthew McGill and Philip Ball. The company has been operating in stealth mode and is building AI systems intended to simulate and predict physical-world dynamics.
That work sits in the field often called world models: AI systems trained to understand and replicate physical space. The founders previously helped develop DeepMind’s Genie work, which was reported to generate realistic video and interactive 3D environments from short prompts.
The valuation has appeared in two forms. Crypto Briefing described $3 billion before the new money, with roughly $3.7 billion after it; PYMNTS, citing the Financial Times, described the prospective financing as valuing Emulate at about $3.7 billion. The figures describe the same broad deal scale, but distinguish between pre-money and post-money value.
The talks put the immediate focus on Emulate’s founders and its reported research direction rather than a completed financing. Whether the proposed terms hold will determine whether the company becomes one of the most highly valued startups at the seed stage.
