The release broadens the items merchants can put into Genlook’s one-photo fitting flow while using existing product images. Its speed, adoption and cart-add figures remain company-reported, and sizing guidance is not yet part of the product.

Genlook’s September 1 update expands its AI try-on product to more fashion categories and makes the capability available to every store at no extra charge. Merchants can use existing product-page images, while shoppers upload one photo and try multiple items on mobile or desktop. The move lowers adoption friction across Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop and Shopline, but the product remains visualization rather than sizing advice.
The feature covers dresses, outerwear, swimwear, footwear and accessories, expanding beyond categories earlier versions reportedly rendered unreliably.
Genlook reports 600+ fashion stores and three-times higher cart adds among try-on users in Q2 2026; the comparison is not causal.
Try-on completes in under 10 seconds, uses existing product images, and lets shoppers browse multiple items after one photo upload.
Fashion merchants using Genlook can now offer virtual try-on across a wider range of catalog items without paying for the model upgrade. The company released the update September 1 and says shoppers can see a catalog garment on their own body from one uploaded photo.
The model supports dresses, outerwear, swimwear, footwear and accessories, among other fashion garment types. Genlook says this includes categories that earlier versions could not render reliably. The upgrade is live for every store on its platform at no additional cost.
A shopper can open the try-on feature from a product page, upload or take a photo, and then browse other catalog products without another upload. Genlook says it uses the product images already on the page, avoiding a new set of merchant visual assets. The company says generation takes under 10 seconds and produces a photorealistic image; those are company performance claims.
Genlook supports Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop and Shopline, and offers an API for custom integrations. It also says nine in 10 virtual try-ons occur on phones, making the product-page flow particularly important for mobile shoppers.
Genlook’s cart-add comparison does not by itself show that try-on caused the difference, since it compares shoppers who used the feature with those who did not. The company says an AI size chart remains in development, leaving visualizing an item on a shopper separate from a sizing recommendation.
The experience also requires a shopper photo. Genlook says photos are encrypted in transit and at rest, deleted automatically after seven days, and not used to train models.
