On September 23, Google added six creator-built production tools to Flow—and the important twist is that users can remix them or describe a different task and build their own workflow. The tools cover very different stages of production. Mondo Sónico creates ambience, foley, and contextual sound effects on synchronized, editable tracks, which users can export separately for post-production. CaptionCast transcribes, styles, and animates multilingual captions in one workflow. ThumbnailForge builds social thumbnails from an image, a headline, and a prompt. For architecture, Surface generates textures and maps them onto 3D walls, ceilings, and floors in real time. And two tools handle motion graphics: CollageMotion Pro turns text prompts into animated collages, while SwissFlow Studio converts scripts into Swiss-style graphics. That range matters because these aren’t six versions of one generic generator. Some tools prepare assets for later editing; others bundle several production steps. A creator can start with a ready-made workflow, duplicate and adjust it, or describe a task that isn’t covered. Google developed the tools with people working in sound, digital content, architecture, and film. The launch shows what customizable workflows can produce, but not whether they save time compared with manual work. The practical test is whether a starter tool removes tedious steps without limiting the edits needed to finish a project.

Story brief

3 key points

Google added six creator-built production workflows to Flow on September 23, spanning editable sound design, multilingual captions, thumbnail creation, architectural texturing and two motion-graphics formats. The release broadens Flow beyond a fixed set of creative tasks: users can duplicate and remix a workflow or describe a different job to build a custom tool. That makes the launch relevant as a test of workflow...

  1. 01

Mondo Sónico generates ambience, foley and contextual effects on synchronized tracks that users can export separately for post-production.

  2. 02

CaptionCast handles multilingual transcription and animated captions; ThumbnailForge creates social thumbnails from an image, headline and prompt.

  3. 03

Surface generates architectural textures and maps them onto 3D walls, ceilings and floors in real time.

A sound designer can generate separate audio tracks; a filmmaker can turn a script into motion graphics. Google released six creator-built tools for Flow on September 23, each aimed at a specific production task. Users can also duplicate and remix the tools instead of starting from scratch.

Six tools for specific jobs

Google developed the release with creatives in architecture, sound design and digital content. Some tools prepare material for further editing; others combine several steps into one workflow. The difference matters when choosing a starting point: an audio editor needs something different from someone making a thumbnail.

  • Mondo Sónico generates ambience, foley and contextual sound effects on synchronized, editable tracks. Users can export the tracks separately for post-production.
  • CaptionCast transcribes, styles and animates multilingual captions in a single workflow, aimed at reducing manual subtitling.
  • ThumbnailForge makes social thumbnails from an image, a headline and a prompt, addressing the work of formatting cover art for different platforms.
  • Surface generates architectural textures and maps them onto 3D walls, ceilings and floors in real time, according to Google. It is designed for exploring materials early in a project.
  • CollageMotion Pro turns text prompts into animated collages for mixed-media work.
  • SwissFlow Studio converts scripts into Swiss-style motion graphics instead of requiring creators to set movement frame by frame.

The tools came from four creator teams. Creative director Ricardo Villavicencio and sound designer Sebastián Carvallo made Mondo Sónico. Digital storyteller Jay Pirabakaran made both CaptionCast and ThumbnailForge; interior designer Vojtek Morsztyn built Surface. Filmmaker Hashem Al-Ghaili made the two motion-graphics tools, CollageMotion Pro and SwissFlow Studio.

Where the creator takes over

That choice changes what a creator has to do first. Someone who needs captions can begin with Pirabakaran’s workflow and adjust it; someone with a different production task can describe the steps they want and make a new tool. Flow’s pitch is not that every creator follows the same process, but that the process itself can be shaped around the job.

The release shows what those workflows are designed to produce, not how much time they save against manual work. For a creator, the useful test is whether a ready-made tool removes tedious steps without getting in the way of the edits needed to finish the project.
