Story brief
3 key pointsThe acquisition gives HCLTech a way to add task execution across business applications to its enterprise automation offering: Robotiq.ai’s RPA can handle workflows where APIs are missing or inadequate. HCLTech plans to pair it with HCL UnO Agentic, which coordinates AI agents and workflows, but the completion filing does not confirm integration or provide a rollout schedule. The previously announced €9 million enterprise value is subject to net-debt and working-capital adjustments; the final consideration was not disclosed.

HCLTech completed its purchase of Croatia-based Robotiq.ai on October 26, 2026, securing technology it plans to use to turn AI-directed workflows into actions inside business applications. The ownership change is confirmed; the promised integration with HCL UnO Agentic is not. The deal follows an announced €9 million enterprise valuation, subject to adjustments.
An October close beats the November timetable
HCL Technologies Austria GmbH, a step-down wholly owned HCLTech subsidiary, acquired 100% of Robotic Process Automation d.o.o., the company operating as Robotiq.ai. The transaction closed at 4:58 p.m. IST, according to the completion filing described by Analytics India Magazine. That puts the transfer ahead of the November closing HCLSoftware anticipated when it announced the proposed acquisition on September 28.
The €9 million figure is the transaction’s previously disclosed enterprise value, not a newly confirmed final payment. HCLTech’s September disclosure specified an all-cash transaction, with customary adjustments for net debt and working capital. The October completion filing did not disclose revised consideration after those adjustments.
From choosing a step to carrying it out
Robotiq.ai supplies robotic process automation, or RPA: software that performs repetitive tasks across business applications. HCLSoftware’s September announcement identifies the particular gap it wants that technology to fill. Some applications lack adequate application programming interfaces, or APIs—the connections software uses to exchange information and trigger actions. Robotiq.ai’s technology is intended to automate tasks where those connections are unavailable or insufficient.
The planned combination gives the two products different jobs. HCL UnO Agentic coordinates AI agents and enterprise workflows; Robotiq.ai would provide a way to execute defined tasks within the applications those workflows depend on. HCLSoftware describes this as extending its platform from decision-making to execution. It is a proposed connection between planning work and completing it, rather than simply another interface for asking AI questions.
The completion filing does not confirm that Robotiq.ai has been fully integrated into HCL UnO Agentic, and it provides no product rollout schedule.
Enterprises are looking beyond AI experimentation toward production-scale automation that is secure, governed and reliable.

A small business with regulated-industry customers
Robotiq.ai was incorporated in August 2018 and is headquartered in Zagreb. HCLSoftware says its platform is used by large banks, insurance groups and telecom providers. Those existing users give the acquisition a business-application focus: the target already supplies automation to organizations operating across complex systems, rather than bringing only an undeployed technology concept.
The target’s financial scale is modest. Dataquest, citing the earlier regulatory disclosure, reported revenue of €1.4 million for the year ended December 31, 2025, compared with €0.9 million in each of 2023 and 2024. Robotiq.ai reported €0.2 million in profit after tax for 2025 and net worth of €0.8 million.
HCLSoftware also points to ISO-certified security, audit logs and flexible deployment options in Robotiq.ai’s platform. Dataquest identifies integration, controls and handling exceptions as factors in whether the combination delivers dependable automation. The acquisition supplies an execution tool; reliable operation across customer workflows remains the product challenge.
