How A.I. Helped One Man (and His Brother) Build a $1.8 Billion Company

Key Takeaway: A Los Angeles founder used A.I. tools to build and scale Medvi into a massively profitable telehealth company with only his brother as a full-time employee, showing how artificial intelligence can radically shrink the size of a billion-dollar business.

More Insights:

Matthew Gallagher launched Medvi in just two months with about $20,000 and a stack of A.I. tools.
The company generated $401 million in 2025 and is on pace for $1.8 billion in sales this year.
A.I. handled coding, marketing, customer service, analytics, and much of the company’s operations.
Medvi stayed lean by outsourcing doctors, pharmacies, compliance, and some specialized work to outside partners.
The story also exposes the downsides of ultra-lean A.I. businesses: mistakes, fragile systems, and the loneliness of building without a real team.

Why it matters: This article is really about more than one startup’s success. It hints at a future where the biggest competitive advantage may no longer be hiring more people, but knowing how to direct machines better than everyone else. That should make us think hard about what work, leadership, and even human value inside a company will look like when scale no longer requires a crowd.

OpenAI acquires TBPN, the buzzy founder-led business talk show

Key Takeaway: OpenAI is acquiring TBPN to expand how it shapes the public conversation around AI, while insisting the popular founder-led show will remain editorially independent.

More Insights:

TBPN is a daily live business and tech show hosted by founders John Coogan and Jordi Hays.
The show became a Silicon Valley favorite by featuring candid conversations with top tech leaders.
OpenAI plans to keep TBPN as a separate brand and help scale its reach.
Fidji Simo said TBPN’s communication style can help explain AI’s impact on everyday life.
The deal also raises concerns because TBPN frequently covers OpenAI and its rivals.

Why it matters: This signals that the battle for AI leadership is no longer just about building the best models — it is also about owning the narrative. When the companies shaping the future also start buying the platforms that explain that future, the line between information, influence, and power gets a lot harder to ignore.

Anthropic Races to Contain Leak of Code Behind Claude AI Agent

Key Takeaway: Anthropic is scrambling to contain an accidental Claude Code source-code leak that exposed the company’s agent-building techniques, potentially helping competitors copy its product and giving attackers new material to study.

More Insights:

Anthropic said the leak came from a packaging mistake caused by human error, not a security breach.
The exposed code did not include customer data or model weights, but it did reveal sensitive internal agent instructions and tooling.
Anthropic issued copyright takedown requests that removed more than 8,000 copies and adaptations from GitHub.
Developers quickly spread, studied, and even rewrote the leaked functionality in other programming languages to avoid takedowns.
The leak may hurt Anthropic’s competitive edge by exposing how Claude Code stitches models and tools together to work effectively.

Why it matters: This shows that in AI, the real advantage may not just be the model itself, but the hidden layer of prompts, orchestration, and tooling around it. When that layer leaks, a company can lose more than code—it can lose trust, defensibility, and the illusion that its lead is hard to copy.
