Story brief
3 key pointsIntuit’s August 31 partnership with Perplexity makes selected QuickBooks and Mailchimp data and workflows available inside Perplexity Computer through MCP connectors. The practical scope is narrower than a general business copilot: users can follow up overdue invoices, create recurring billing, send payment links, retrieve payslips and employee payroll information, and analyze campaign performance. QuickBooks supports named cash-flow actions; payroll examples are information retrieval, not payroll execution.

Mailchimp coverage centers on campaign tracking and revenue-oriented analysis.

MCP keeps requests and connected Intuit systems inside one Perplexity workflow.
Intuit has connected QuickBooks and Mailchimp to Perplexity Computer, giving customers one AI interface for selected cash-flow tasks, employee payroll information and marketing analysis. The partnership puts Perplexity’s agent in front of systems that businesses use to run daily operations.
The companies announced the partnership on August 31. It uses Model Context Protocol, or MCP, connectors: links that let customers access Intuit business systems while working in Perplexity Computer. The setup is designed to keep the request and the connected business tools in the same Perplexity workflow.
From a request to connected business work
The mechanism is consequential because it joins an agent interface to business records and tools rather than leaving the agent at the research stage. Intuit CTO Alex Balazs said the intended result is to close the gap between finding answers, getting personalized insights and taking decisive action.
Three kinds of work are named
The product pairing is QuickBooks and Mailchimp, but the announced functions reach across finance, workforce information and marketing. The distinction matters: the release describes concrete billing actions, while its payroll examples concern retrieval of pay slips and employee payroll information.
- Cash flow: follow up on overdue invoices, set up recurring billing and distribute payment links.
- Payroll information: retrieve pay slips and access employee payroll information.
- Marketing: track campaign performance and analyze data to identify actions that can generate revenue.
An execution claim, tied to business systems
Perplexity Chief Business Officer Dmitry Shevelenko described the integration as a route from research and answers to securely executing financial actions. That is the partnership’s central product pitch: pair Perplexity Computer with Intuit’s financial and business software so a customer can move from an AI request into named operational tasks.
The tie-up arrives as Perplexity is also the subject of reported talks with Nvidia over a potential multibillion-dollar investment at a valuation above $30 billion. Those talks were reported negotiations, not an announced financing, and are separate from Intuit’s new integration.
