Meta’s Muse Reaches No. 2 on U.S. App Store, Sensor Tower Estimates

Meta’s new personal AI agent is already near the top of Apple’s U.S. charts. Muse reached No. 2 after Sensor Tower estimated more than 83,000 U.S. iOS downloads, an early sign of attention for an app Meta says can carry out tasks rather than simply answer prompts.

The rank is an early result for a U.S.-only product. Muse moved from No. 4 on the overall U.S. App Store chart the previous day, according to data reported by TechCrunch. But the estimate is narrow: it does not include people using Muse on the web or through WhatsApp.

A high rank, but a partial count

App-chart placement captures momentum, not a complete audience. Meta says Muse is rolling out in the United States on iOS, Android and muse.ai, and can be used in its standalone app or directly in WhatsApp. Android download figures were not available.

More than 83,000U.S. iOS downloads

Sensor Tower’s estimate covers Muse downloads on iOS in the United States.

No. 4U.S. App Store rank

Muse rose from No. 4 the previous day to No. 2 on the U.S. App Store’s overall chart.

No. 338Google Play position

Muse ranked No. 338 in Google Play’s Productivity category; Android download totals were unavailable.

Earlier Meta launches set a tougher comparison

Muse’s climb does not match the debut scale of two earlier Meta apps cited in the same data. Threads recorded more than 4.3 million U.S. downloads on launch day. Meta AI logged 108,000 U.S. downloads in its debut, compared with Muse’s more than 83,000 iOS downloads so far.

Those comparisons do not settle Muse’s prospects. They cover different products and launch moments, while Muse’s estimate excludes web and WhatsApp use. The numbers show a smaller early iOS total than Meta AI’s debut, not whether Muse will retain users.

The adoption test goes beyond downloading

Meta says Muse can send email, book travel and make purchases. It runs in a dedicated virtual machine with its own browser, according to the company. Meta also says people choose which apps to connect and what access the agent receives, while sensitive actions require user approval.

For now, the iOS ranking shows attention. Whether that attention becomes regular use will depend in part on whether people are comfortable connecting services to an agent that can take actions on their behalf.
