Nori Lists Its A3 Home Robot at $1,688, but Buyers Will Help Teach It What to Do

Nori Robotics is now listing its NORI A3 for a full $1,688 purchase price, with no deposit, and says deliveries are planned for fall 2026. The wheeled, two-armed machine is pitched for household help, but its first customers are also being asked to train and extend it.
The current order page turns an August order opening into a visible commercial offer. Nori says the A3 can assist with kitchen work, tidying, refrigerator retrieval, dish loading, clothes folding and ingredient pouring. Those are stated intended uses, rather than a published measure of dependable autonomous performance across homes.
A low-priced machine with work left for its owners
A3 orders include an open-source software development kit, access to Nori’s user community and priority shipping. The Nori Lab laptop app is intended to train, operate and manage the robot, putting the teaching workflow inside the product rather than treating it as a back-end development tool.
That package has an important boundary. Nori’s developer site says full A3 documentation is still coming, while guides already cover teleoperation, video streaming and browser-based control. The split makes the A3 a developer-oriented robotics platform at launch, not a conventional home appliance with a fixed, documented set of chores.
The hardware is built around mobility and light manipulation
Nori describes the A3 as a wheeled robot with two arms. Its arms have 7+1 degrees of freedom and a 1.5-kilogram payload apiece; Nori also lists four 720p RGB cameras, lidar with a 12-meter range, a microphone and a speaker.
The company claims six to eight hours of battery life and says the robot is assembled in San Francisco. Nori also advertises 19 degrees of freedom and a 55-kilogram linear lift, though the per-arm payload is the more direct limit on what either arm can carry.
The software approach favors reuse over a closed stack
Nori’s public software work includes a Nori Lab interface forked from a web interface built around Hugging Face’s LeRobot project, plus a repository that forks the open-source XLeRobot design. That approach is consistent with selling the A3 as hardware that developers can adapt, rather than claiming every layer of the system was built from scratch.
Fall delivery will turn the proposition into an operating test
Nori says the A3 will ship in fall 2026. The company was founded in 2026, has five employees and is part of Y Combinator’s Summer 2026 batch, placing production, customer support and documentation work on a young team as orders move toward delivery.
Nori’s YC profile reported more than $350,000 in sales during its first six weeks and one deployed robot; the sales figure was company-supplied. The next meaningful result is therefore not another task demonstration. It is whether the fall shipment run produces robots that owners can train, maintain and use well enough to justify the low upfront price.
