Nutanix Acquires Ryax, Plans AI Workload Scheduling in Future Releases

Nutanix has acquired France-based Ryax Technologies, bringing AI compute-orchestration software into its business. Nutanix plans to use Ryax’s GPU and CPU optimization and AI-aware scheduling capabilities in future releases of its Kubernetes Platform and Enterprise AI products.

The purchase is aimed at a deployment problem Nutanix says enterprises increasingly face: AI capacity and infrastructure can be fragmented across private data centers, hyperscalers and neoclouds. Nutanix says that split, along with significant integration and manual configuration work, can make it difficult to move AI projects from experimentation into production.

Ryax provides AI-driven compute orchestration and management software. Nutanix says the platform is intended to make more effective use of available GPUs and CPUs, while automatically placing AI workloads on cost-effective hardware to help balance performance and budget.

The workflow layer Ryax already operates

• Developers can define containerized workflows through actions and triggers; Ryax handles packaging, deployment, scheduling, scaling and monitoring.
• Its software orchestrates those workflows across Kubernetes and Slurm clusters.
• Those workflows can target public cloud, private infrastructure, edge and high-performance computing environments without rewriting code.

Nutanix intends the acquisition to support cross-platform management of agentic-AI infrastructure, including resource optimization and smart scheduling. The Ryax team will join Nutanix in France, while Nutanix says the deal will not have a material financial impact.

Nutanix has bought technology built to coordinate workflows across several environments, but it has not set a delivery date for the product integrations. The immediate change is the acquisition; the practical value for customers depends on whether Ryax’s capabilities arrive inside the two planned Nutanix products.
