Oracle Adds an AI Assistant for Siebel CRM Configuration, With Developers in Control

Oracle has introduced the Siebel Developer Assistant, a sample application that helps developers inspect and configure selected parts of Siebel CRM. It can work in a development workspace, but authorized developers decide whether changes move to integration or mainline branches.

From a request to a configuration plan

A developer can ask the assistant to explore supported repository objects, inspect an existing configuration and document what it finds. They can also start with a change they already have in mind. The assistant gathers context and identifies dependencies before helping plan supported configuration work. Its scope is selected Siebel Web Tools objects, rather than every part of the CRM system.

Three components connect that workflow to Siebel’s development tools:

• A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server gives the AI coding tool controlled access to supported Siebel Web Tools functions. MCP lets AI tools connect to software functions.
• Agent instructions guide the tool through discovery, documentation, planning and supported configuration activities.
• Object-specific skills explain repository hierarchies, valid paths, field rules and prerequisites for the work.

What happens before changes move forward

The assistant can help perform supported configuration tasks in a development workspace. If a request is missing information, it asks for clarification before the affected activity proceeds. For example, a request to inspect a branch must identify which branch the developer means.

At the end of a conversation, the assistant summarizes the work performed and information gathered. For configuration work, it also provides relevant validation details. Developers can inspect its recommendations and resulting repository changes in the Web Tools IDE. Oracle keeps the next decision with authorized developers: they control promotion to integration or mainline branches.

Requesting the sample

Developers can request access through My Oracle Support by filing a service request with Oracle Siebel Support and referencing Patch ID 39950860. Oracle presents the assistant as support for established development practices, not a substitute for developer expertise, governance or review.
