On October 29, 2026, Placer.ai brought in Jigso co-founders Or Shani and Tomer Naveh, along with AI specialists from their startup, to expand work on detecting changes in location data and recommending business responses. The hires add capacity to existing AI programs rather than create a new unit, supporting Placer’s shift from analytics toward timely, action-oriented insights for more than 5,000 organizations. What the team will build, how many employees are joining, and when customers might see new capabilities remain undisclosed.
Shani will serve as Executive in Residence for business development, while Naveh will lead R&D for AI Actions as vice president.
Placer.ai says both founders bring 16 years of AI and machine-learning experience.
Before Jigso, the founders launched Albert.ai, an advertising automation platform that they took public and later sold.
Placer.ai is adding AI specialists to help turn its location data into timely insights and business recommendations, rather than leaving customers to find every signal themselves. On October 29, 2026, the company announced that Jigso co-founders Or Shani and Tomer Naveh are joining alongside AI experts they assembled at the startup.
The incoming group will work with Placer.ai’s established AI teams and leadership on initiatives already underway. The company describes the appointments as additional expertise and development capacity, building on years of investment in AI rather than starting a new operation from scratch.
Placer.ai analyzes visits and activity at physical locations, including stores, shopping centers, hotels and commercial properties. Businesses use that information to compare locations, understand consumer behavior and track market changes. Placer.ai says more than 5,000 organizations, including many Fortune 500 companies, rely on its proprietary data.
Its stated goal is to deliver insights as they emerge, flag anomalies—unusual changes in the data—in real time, and recommend responses.
That approach differs from conventional analytics, where customers examine the numbers and draw their own conclusions. Ynet describes potential signals such as unexpected changes in visitor numbers or shifts in consumer patterns.
Our ambition was never to be just an analytics platform
Noam Ben-Zvi, Placer.ai CEO and co-founder
The founders will take different roles inside Placer.ai. CTech reported the appointments as follows:
Placer.ai says each founder brings 16 years of AI and machine-learning experience. Before Jigso, they founded Albert.ai, an AI platform designed to automate advertising decisions. They took that company public and later sold it.
Jigso’s platform connected to enterprise systems and analyzed business information to find unusual activity, surface insights and support automated actions. Its focus was information already held within organizations, reducing the need for employees to search across several systems.
For Shani, the attraction was the combination of Placer.ai’s proprietary data, its existing customer base and its commitment to AI. In the announcement, he described those resources as an opportunity for the team to make a larger impact together.
According to Ynet, Placer.ai did not disclose how many Jigso employees are joining or any associated financial arrangements. It also did not identify the products or features the team will be responsible for developing.
There is no announced timetable for capabilities resulting from the team’s arrival.
