RWS announced on November 2, 2026, that it had completed its acquisition of Acogroup, Acolad’s parent company. The deal brings an established enterprise language-and-content business into RWS, pairing the buyer’s AI technologies with services and specialist expertise for customers handling complex content across international markets.
Completion followed the conclusion of the required social consultation process and all regulatory approvals, RWS said. The company did not disclose a purchase price in its completion announcement.
Language services and regulated-industry expertise
Acolad brings an established enterprise customer base and expertise in localization, interpreting, transcription and data services. The acquired business therefore reaches beyond software: its contribution includes the language and content work that enterprise customers already rely on, alongside the technology RWS plans to make available to them.
Its sector experience includes regulated industries, public institutions and medical devices. RWS says those strengths complement its existing capabilities, particularly in life sciences. That gives the combination a specific industry focus as well as a broader portfolio of language services.
RWS also says the acquisition strengthens its presence in Europe and North America. Its stated goal is to extend the reach of its AI technologies and platforms to more enterprises dealing with complex language and content needs.
The next step for Acolad customers
Acolad customers will gain access to RWS technologies including Cultural Intelligence Layer, Language Weaver Pro and Trados, according to the company. The promised access also covers its growing portfolio of AI platforms. RWS says the combined organization’s language and content specialists will support those tools, with the aim of maintaining quality, cultural relevance and human oversight in AI-powered enterprise workflows.
