SWI Group raises €800 million to fund AI infrastructure in Europe and the US
The share issuance takes equity raised since March above €1 billion. Its spending plans include power infrastructure, computing deployments and the conversion of former bitcoin-mining facilities.
The €800 million raise gives SWI Group more funding to build its transatlantic AI infrastructure platform, including power systems and computing deployments as well as data centers. The mandate also allows further AI investments and larger stakes in existing holdings, but the proceeds are intended to fund development—not evidence that new capacity is already operational. The strategy includes converting parts of former bitcoin miner Genesis Digital Assets into AI facilities, tying SWI’s infrastructure expansion to assets it already controls.

SWI announced the share issuance on October 12, 2026, at a €6.1 billion valuation.
02
The company says equity raised since March 2026 will exceed €1 billion after the transaction; its free float is expected to be about 20%.

SWI acquired about 40% of Genesis Digital Assets in June for $500 million and completed the deal in August with 70% of voting rights.
SWI Group is putting another €800 million in institutional equity behind its shift toward AI infrastructure. The Euronext Amsterdam-listed group announced the capital increase on October 12, 2026, at a €6.1 billion valuation. It says the money will support data centers, power infrastructure and computing capacity across Europe and the United States.
New shares finance the infrastructure push
The financing comes through new ordinary shares issued in several series by SWI Capital Holding, the group’s listed holding company. It trades under the ticker SWICH.
SWI says the issuance brings its total share capital to 558,399,385 ordinary shares. The company also says the deal broadens its institutional shareholder base and increases its free float—the portion of shares available for public trading.
Some investors receive options related to their shares, conditional on milestones described as ECM milestones.
Power and computing capacity share the spending mandate
The intended use of proceeds covers more than the data-center buildings themselves. SWI names power infrastructure, computing deployments and the execution of its development pipeline on both sides of the Atlantic. These are the infrastructure investments it says the new capital will support, not capacity it says has already been delivered through this transaction.
The mandate also includes further AI investment and increasing SWI’s stakes in existing investments. SWI presents both as part of the consolidation and expansion of its digital infrastructure and AI computing platform.
Founder and CEO Max-Hervé George framed the financing as a way to keep pace with the computing and data-center markets. He said SWI has a substantial pipeline and welcomed new investors who share its long-term ambition.
A mining portfolio becomes part of the AI strategy
One concrete part of that shift is SWI Digital, formerly the bitcoin miner Genesis Digital Assets. According to CoinDesk, SWI announced the purchase of about 40% of Genesis Digital in June for $500 million. It completed the acquisition in August with 70% of the voting rights and renamed the business SWI Digital.
CoinDesk reports that SWI plans to repurpose SWI Digital’s facilities in the United States and Sweden for AI workloads while selling its sites in Kazakhstan.
CoinDesk identifies power connections and data-center sites as the assets miners can repurpose for AI customers.
George’s position on the old business is blunt. CoinDesk, citing his comments to The Wall Street Journal, reports that he has “zero interest” in bitcoin mining.
