DeepRoute.ai’s automated-driving software now incorporates TomTom location data, adding road layouts and local rules to the information its sensors provide. The companies signed a memorandum of understanding on October 12, 2026, covering joint technical work. They plan to demonstrate the integrated system on open roads in Paris during the Paris Motor Show.
Giving the driving system road context
The integration brings two kinds of information into the same driving system: readings from the vehicle’s sensors and location data describing the roads around it. The companies say that combination helps the software interpret its surroundings, plan ahead and navigate roads it has not encountered before.
TomTom’s contribution includes road layouts, local rules and wider geographic context. The intended role is not simply to identify a destination. It is to inform the driving decisions and maneuvers made along the way. The partners say the combined capabilities are intended to support advanced functions they label L2+ and L2++.
Local differences shape the expansion goal
The partnership is aimed at a specific challenge in taking driving software abroad: road environments differ between markets. The announcement identifies traffic rules, road conditions, driving behavior and validation requirements as factors that vary. TomTom says its location data captures local differences, helping carmakers and technology partners adapt their systems to regional conditions.
DeepRoute.ai partner Xuan Liu links the agreement to the company’s global expansion. He says the combination is intended to help automakers handle unfamiliar physical and regulatory environments abroad. Faster, safer deployment is the partners’ stated objective; the announcement provides no measured safety results or comparative performance figures for the integrated system.
As these AI-driven technologies evolve, they need a scalable, dependable understanding of real-world environments that can adapt to local road conditions.

A demonstration on Paris streets
The planned Paris Motor Show demonstration will use a vehicle running DeepRoute.ai’s software with TomTom location data on open roads. That makes the road demonstration a concrete part of the technical partnership, alongside the memorandum governing the companies’ joint work.
Media and customers attending the show can book a test drive or arrange a meeting with TomTom’s team, according to the announcement’s test-drive information. The invitation is directed at those attendees: the announced activity is a demonstration of the integrated vehicle, not an opening of a public passenger service.
