The partnership turns an existing customer-service deployment and data consolidation into a wider plan for network operations, marketing, security and internal agents. Results for the new uses remain to be demonstrated.

Verizon is expanding an existing Google Cloud relationship into a multi-year AI program that uses Gemini Enterprise and Agentic Data Cloud across service, network operations, marketing, security, and employee workflows. The strategic shift is from isolated automation to a shared data-and-agent foundation: routine customer interactions are already handled largely by the platform, while newer ambitions include detecting and fixing network anomalies before customers notice.
Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience handles a majority of Verizon’s inbound consumer calls and chats, according to Google Cloud; the exact share is undisclosed.
Verizon has spent multiple years moving legacy data lakes to Google Cloud’s Agentic Data Cloud as a common base for automation.
Google Cloud reports improved customer satisfaction and automated-resolution rates, but provides no baseline, percentage gain, or resolution figure.
Verizon is placing Google Cloud’s AI stack at the center of a multi-year program spanning customer care, network operations, marketing, security and employee work. The new partnership makes Gemini Enterprise and Google Cloud’s data infrastructure core to that effort.
The agreement builds on work already underway. Verizon uses Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience across digital touchpoints, including inbound consumer calls and chats. Google Cloud says the platform handles the majority of those interactions, freeing care representatives to focus on more complex needs.
Google Cloud also says the deployment has improved customer satisfaction and automated-resolution rates. It did not disclose the interaction share, improvement size, or resolution rate, leaving the customer-service performance claims difficult to measure independently.
Verizon has spent multiple years moving legacy data lakes to Google’s Agentic Data Cloud. Google Cloud describes the system as bringing together operational databases, documents and knowledge graphs, creating a shared base for AI work across business processes.
Google Cloud says its agent tools can build and deploy agents that use context and carry out automated tasks. Verizon is using Gemini Enterprise for agent orchestration and employee productivity across core business functions, moving the program beyond analytics and customer conversations.
Customer care assigns routine conversations to AI while reserving complex cases for people. The network framework has a more demanding intended role: identifying and resolving anomalies before they reach customers. The announcement does not specify implementation timelines, performance thresholds or governance rules for those automated workflows.
For Google Cloud, the deal embeds its infrastructure, data platform and enterprise-agent tooling in a broad Verizon program. For Verizon, the test is whether a shared data layer can support these distinct uses while delivering the customer and operational gains it seeks.
Editorial analysis
The important shift is not simply a larger AI software purchase. Verizon is attempting to use one data layer and one cloud partner across jobs with very different failure costs: customer conversations, marketing campaigns, employee tasks and network anomaly response. The next meaningful evidence will be operational rather than architectural. Verizon and Google Cloud will need to show whether the customer-service system’s stated gains can translate into reliable network outcomes, while preserving the security and governance needed for broader agent use. The announcement establishes the intended scope, but not the performance bar for each function.
