Google Brings Gemini Hints, QR Trivia and Quizzes to Kaun Banega Crorepati

Google has integrated Gemini into the current season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, turning the AI app into a companion for viewers of India’s quiz show. The rollout connects televised trivia to QR codes, adds AI-assisted hints for difficult questions, and gives people daily and in-app ways to play along.

The design puts Gemini at several points in the KBC experience. Viewers can encounter a question during an episode, scan a code to continue in the app, use hints while thinking through a tough answer, or begin a separate quiz. Gemini becomes a layer around the broadcast rather than a replacement for it.

From a TV question to an app answer

In a dedicated episode segment, Amitabh Bachchan asks Gemini for a piece of trivia. An on-screen QR code lets viewers open the Gemini app to unlock the answer. Google also says viewers can use Gemini to dig into other questions that arise during the show.

Hints become part of play-along

Gemini is also built into Sanket Suchak, a lifeline for contestants and viewers who get stuck on a difficult question. Google describes it as offering hints to help people reason toward the answer, rather than simply supplying one.

A separate activity, Sanket Sawaal, gives viewers daily questions with Gemini-assisted hints. Google says top participants may have an opportunity to be invited to experience KBC in person.

A full quiz away from the episode

For a self-contained game, the Gemini app offers a 16-question KBC quiz that can also be opened through a linked web experience. Players can ask follow-up questions about the topics that appear, extending a trivia answer into further exploration.

Google says Gemini had already answered millions of registration-related queries as people prepared for KBC. The new features shift that role into the viewing period, where the assistant is meant to help audiences follow questions, attempt answers and learn more about the topics behind them.
