HoneyBook Adds a ChatGPT Plugin for Client Records and Draft Business Work

HoneyBook has launched a ChatGPT plugin that lets members query client and business records, then prepare follow-up work including replies, proposals and invoices. The operating limit is clear: nothing created through the connection can be sent or changed without member approval.

HoneyBook said OpenAI selected the tool for ChatGPT’s 16-tool Small Business Collection. The platform is built around client work that can run from an initial inquiry through proposals, contracts, scheduling, communication and payment.

From account question to proposed next step

After connecting an account, members can ask ChatGPT about clients, projects, schedules, contracts, invoices and leads. HoneyBook says the answers draw on the member’s account data, allowing questions such as which invoices are overdue, who is scheduled that week or where a client stands.

Drafting reaches into the client workflow

The connection can do more than retrieve records. HoneyBook says ChatGPT can draft inquiry responses in a member’s style, create proposals, invoices and contracts from saved templates and pricing, add contacts, build lead forms and prepare payment requests.

Review remains the final control

Everything the integration creates arrives as a draft. Members must review and approve it before anything is sent, changed or issued, placing the connection on the preparation side of business administration rather than giving it authority to act alone.

A prior test of connected workflows

HoneyBook previously made account data and workflows available through its Model Context Protocol connection. The company said hundreds of businesses connected and took more than 20,000 actions in its first two weeks, with record reconciliation the most common use.

The ChatGPT launch puts that account-connected workflow in a conversational interface. Any practical benefit will depend on whether members find the drafts useful enough to justify reviewing them before acting.
