Anthropic has decided not to pursue an acquisition of AI startup Decart after exploring a deal and conducting due diligence, according to people familiar with the matter. The discussions had put a possible transaction at around $6 billion, but no acquisition was finalized.
Decart develops software intended to help AI chips work more efficiently, reducing the cost of training AI models and running them afterward. That places the startup in the infrastructure layer of AI: the technology used to make underlying computing systems operate more efficiently.
Reuters described Decart as an AI infrastructure and optimization company. Its products include Lucy, a live-video editing model, and Oasis, a simulation platform—evidence that its work extends beyond chip optimization alone.
The prospective acquisition was reportedly valued at around $6 billion, though the companies had not finalized a transaction.

Neither company publicly confirmed the account. Reuters said it could not immediately verify Bloomberg News’s report, and Anthropic and Decart did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment outside business hours.
