Story brief
3 key pointsSalesforce and Google Cloud are turning their partnership into a shared infrastructure-and-agent stack: Gemini can work with Salesforce data and functions, while Salesforce workloads are slated to run on Google Cloud. The commercial impact is phased rather than immediate. Agentforce’s Gemini-powered reasoning engine is available, but the federated Gemini connector is still in private preview; Hyperforce migration...

Hyperforce already serves live production traffic on Google Cloud; select U.S. migrations are planned for Q4.
Salesforce and Google Cloud have expanded their partnership to let Gemini Enterprise reach Salesforce data and business functions without companies building custom integrations. The promise is a more connected setup for AI agents, but the pieces are arriving on different schedules: some are available now, while a key connector and Salesforce’s cloud migration remain planned.
A bridge from AI prompts to business work
The connection relies on Salesforce’s headless architecture, a design that makes its data and functions available to outside models, agents and interfaces. Salesforce says the Gemini Enterprise link is built on the Model Context Protocol, an open standard for connecting AI systems with external tools and context.
Joint customers can already use Gemini models inside Salesforce’s Agentforce to build agents across both platforms. Salesforce Data 360 and Google BigQuery are also expanding data sharing to more regions, a step intended to make data available across the two companies’ systems without copying it between them.
Salesforce workloads move onto Google Cloud
The infrastructure portion centers on Hyperforce, Salesforce’s platform environment, running on Google Cloud. It is already handling live production customer traffic, according to the companies. The planned migration gives customers a route to Google Cloud infrastructure, data services and Gemini Enterprise while keeping Salesforce as the business platform.
The deal also reaches shopping
Commerce Cloud customers are planned to gain checkout inside Google Search, including AI Mode, and the Gemini app in October. The companies say merchants would keep payments, compliance and order management on their existing Commerce Cloud infrastructure, even as shoppers buy through Google’s surfaces.

Our Read
This is a distribution and infrastructure agreement as well as an AI integration. Salesforce gives Google Cloud a route into the customer records and workflows where business actions happen, while Google offers Salesforce customers another cloud foundation and Gemini access. The near-term signal will be whether the planned connector and Hyperforce migration turn the technical link into broad customer deployment. That matters more than a single agent demonstration because the partnership also depends on data sharing and the movement of Salesforce workloads to Google Cloud.
