Vitality and Google are bringing Vitality AI to U.S. health plans and employers. The AI-driven health platform combines personalized recommendations and coaching with incentives intended to encourage healthier actions, extending a program already used in other markets.
Vitality AI runs on Google Cloud and uses Gemini Enterprise and Google’s Gemini models. Vitality says it analyzes a person’s health profile, lifestyle and risk factors across more than 2,800 health and behavioral dimensions to produce individualized insights and suggested actions.
The recommendation is paired with a reward
The product is designed to do more than supply health information. Vitality’s approach links its recommended next action to an incentive, aiming to make health reviews, screenings and other activities more likely to happen. Its reported results put both parts of that design in view: relevance determines the prompt, while a reward is meant to strengthen follow-through.
Engagement is Vitality’s strongest operating case
Reported outcomes for personalized recommendations
- Members were 3.3 times more likely to complete a mental wellbeing assessment.
- They were 2.7 times more likely to complete an online health review.
- They were 1.4 times more likely to complete a colorectal cancer screening.
Those figures are Vitality-reported engagement outcomes. The company also says 97% of members found their personalized AI reports useful, and that members rated their likelihood of acting on the recommendations at 8.8 out of 10 before localized incentives were added.
A U.S. expansion with prior use
Vitality says more than 210,000 people in the United States have received an AI-driven personalized health action since June 2025, and 54% completed at least one recommended action. The platform is also live across Vitality and Discovery and in the United Kingdom and South Africa.
Accuracy and savings remain company-reported
Vitality said a review by 686 physicians of platform-generated reports involving more than 1,300 Discovery staff found 99.2% accuracy. It also reported that engaged clients had an average 4% reduction in healthcare claims costs and a 180% return on investment, based on data it says Arbital Health independently reviewed.
The U.S. rollout now puts Vitality’s model in front of employers and health plans: an AI system that recommends a health action, then gives people a reason to complete it. Its reported engagement and financial outcomes remain the company’s case for scaling that approach.
